Girl on the go with a lot to say!

ella is on the move and is saying "dada" to austin and occasionally me. i think sometimes she gets confused and thinks dada means either parent. it's the cutest thing to hear her little voice (which is much higher than little addie's was) call for us. she melts our heart and is such a big girl.

An Artist in the Making

Mommy & Addie Date Day

on friday adeline and i had a special date day planned. we got dressed up in our fall sweaters (which wasn't the best choice since it was 95 outside!), took some pictures of ourselves (which we both thought was very funny)...
waved good-bye to ella and austin...
and hit the road for some adventure!
we went to a learning store to get some craft supplies and adeline loved it. she thought it was the best thing she's ever seen. she immediately showed me all the toys she liked and set to work organizing the play kitchen!
we ended our date day by having lunch with austin and ella and finished off with a treat of her choice. she chose a ring-pop. what a big girl she's becoming!

Oh Such a Lady...

it's so cute to watch ella sit up. she looks like such a tiny pip-squeak!

Those Silly Strawberries

adeline is really good at giving ella "strawberries" on her tummy. it is one of the funniest things that happens in our house and they both laugh every time a "strawberry" is given.

Ella's a Big Girl

A Big Week

last week my friend rashelle and her daughter lily came to visit. we had many grand adventures and a wonderful time reminiscing and laughing. here's a synopsis of what we did...
we went to santa monica. we enjoyed a nice stormy sea...
we rode the carousel. i think everyone felt the way ella looked!
we went to the zoo. the girls had a great time sharing lunch and the wagon. it poured rain on us as we sprinted through the parking lot with three tiny girls. it was a funny sight.
we had a reunion with nicki and christa (and lindy too) who lived with us in belize. and we ate at a belizian restaurant. yum!
the big adventure was disneyland!
addie was a little scared of mickey, but lily was so excited to see him and greeted him enthusiastically with a hug.
the funniest part of the day was the new orleans show. there was a part of the show where little kids were invited to come up and shake tambourines so lily and addie volunteered. the singer said to addie, "how about you itty-bitty? you wanna play?" so she joined the others but refused to take a tambourine, instead she clung to her anti-bacterial hand gel like an ocd kid. lily danced her heart out and played her tambourine and addie just stood there holding her purell. so funny. oh that itty-bitty girl of ours!
the pooh bear ride was one of the "scary" parts of the day. addie told us that she was "crying" in the ride but has of course continued to talk about it everyday.
ella took some naps.
addie loved toon town. mickey's and minnie's houses were her favorite.
ella's favorite part of the day was watching cartoons of mickey while waiting in line.
the girls did really well together all week and by the end loved each other very much!

Everybody Loves Paul

our girls have always been big fans of paul b yoon. this was the first time ella really played with paul since becoming a big girl. she loved it and loved paul.

Our Little City Slicker

we took the girls to a pumpkin patch and adeline wanted to ride the ponies. she was very excited while we were in line, and was ok when she got on her pony "sox." once he started moving she changed her mind and decided she wanted "up pease." we made her stay on for the rest of the ride and when she couldn't see us she looked like she was having a little bit of fun. she never cried but when she got off she said "i'm crying" (she says that sometimes when she's not crying but feels like she might. we say she's crying on the inside!) even though it wasn't a big hit at the time she has talked about her big pony ride multiple times a day since then!
we also had fun playing on the tractors, she pretended to drive and honk the horn.
