the big duke's first visit to the big duke city

we had a great time in albuquerque in november. we were able to spend time with a lot of friends whom we haven't seen in a long time and had a wonderful time at our dear friend sara's wedding.

but family time was the highlight...
the cousins LOVE LOVE LOVE each other, especially the "twins"
and the newest set of "twins"
ella and i loved holding sweet little jace
we couldn't get enough!
we had fun at the aquarium...
and the river...

and in the leaves...

and in the snow...
(well, most of us had fun in the snow!)

and with the fam.

it was a mini-duncan family reunion. ella and owen met their great grandma d for the first time. addie met her just before she turned one and enjoyed seeing her again.
4 generations
duncans, duncans everywhere! we had a super time as a family & it was a treat introducing the kids to their aunts and uncle.
we had a great visit with my dearest friend, whitney, and her three girls. so cute, i wish we lived closer so the girls could become friends :)
the kids had such fun with my aunt cindy
and she agrees that owen is a mini-austin!
owen fell in love with my dad. as soon as owen would hear my dad's voice he would squirm all around to try and find him & was happiest when he was playing with pappa!
sweet baby jace stole our hearts and we're all so glad to have another little family member to love.
and it was such a treat for us to spend time with trey. the girls loved being with him and they all got along perfectly. i love seeing the "cuggins" together!
the girls were constantly trying to hug and kiss trey!

this is how we found the kids most of the time (although most of the time there were also marshmallows involved also!). they love piling on grammy!
thanks family, for a great time. we loved being with you!

oh owen!

little owen is getting so giggly! he makes us laugh because one minute he's looking at us like this...
then he thinks something is a little funny...
then he thinks it's hilarious...
then it's not so funny!
he is such a sweet boy and keeps us laughing. he's super ticklish and laughs so hard when we give him raspberries on his tummy. we love hearing his little laugh and seeing his cute smile.

sisters love each other!

everyday, at least once, i tell the girls to be kind to one another because sisters love each other. sometimes they agree, other times not so much, but hopefully they will continue in their love for each other and understand what a sweet and precious gift the Lord gievs in a sister.

thankfully november has been one of those months that they have LOVED being together. they play for hours a day with doggies and babies and cooking in their kitchen and playing dress up and chase and of course the ever popular "kiss owen till he cries" game! one day while playing dress up i snuck in just in time to capture some pretty cute moments. they explained to me that addie was a princess at disneyland and ella was a little girl visiting disneyland. the cutest part was that addie was talking just like the princeses do, so sweet and complementary of ella. she was asking her about her name and her clothes and her favorite things. soooo funny.
all that disneyland play can really wear a girl out!
we try to make little fun crafts or treat for each season so we made little pilgrim hats out of chocolate dipped marshmallows (or marsh-pillows as ella calls them) & cookies this november. the girls were less than happy with me when they found out we had to wait to eat them till the next day (chocolate and bed time do not mix well around here). this displeasure with me revealed a new kind of unity for them. i call it the "sisters love each other because mom is unfair to both of us" unity or the "sisters help each other pout" unity :)

olvera street adventure

a fairy, a flamingo & a ferocious frog

oh, october!

in october we went to the pumpkin patch as a family & had a wonderful time. the girls love to look at the animals, play on the tractors and pick out a pumpkin to buy.
adeline was able to ride the same horse she rode when she was little. see the blog post here
ella decided it was safer to stand by animal signs than real animals. maybe next year.

our pumpkins made our dinner table their new home and we enjoyed them all fall!
