Spa Day!

today adeline and i had a fun spa day. she is becoming such a little lady. first she got a big girl hair cut at the salon then we painted her finger and toe nails (which has now become her favorite thing to pretend to do). we planted flowers, took a nap and ate fruit for dinner! i am sure today was the first of many days like it to come. i love having daughters and am so thankful that the Lord has blessed us with two! (we thought about painting ella's nails but decided it wasn't such a good idea!)

Our Baby La-La

adeline calls her little sister "la-la", we love it. she turned 6 weeks today and we couldn't be more pleased with how well she's adjusted to our family. we love her and are so grateful for her.she smiles and coo's and keeps all three of us very entertained. here are a few of the many faces of little ella.

Update

what a week! all of us girls caught a nasty cold in albuquerque so i don't have many pictures to post. there has mainly been a lot of crying and nose wiping. also, i forgot to take my camera to albuquerque. we had a great time with my sisters. adeline enjoyed meeting her aunt charity's dog, going to a baseball game, and going to aunt charity's baby shower.

But A Vapor

these last 18 days have been such a good reminder to me of how short life is. it truly seems like our little adeline was as small as ella just a few weeks ago, this week she turned 20 months. i am trying to enjoy every day that the Lord gives us with these two little ladies. i pray that i will become even more mindful of the frailty and brevity of life as we raise these girls in light of eternity. we're so thankful for our babies and very grateful that the Lord gave sweet adeline a sister.

Addie's Baby Sister

On Monday, April 14th, at 4:30 pm, we welcomed a new member to our family, Ella Capri. Merilly and I are so thankful to the Lord for her. Ella is doing great. Merilly is recovering well. And I am quoting Psalm 66:3 "Say to God, 'How awesome are Thy works!'"

A Big Week

adeline had a big week of fun adventures.she visited with her grandparents & celebrated her aunt rachie's birthday... did a great job at her first egg hunt...

yesterday adeline celebrated the first day of spring by wearing a flower headband that my parents sent in her easter basket.

Fun in "Barbaras"

last weekend we took one last family trip before the baby comes. we went to santa barbara, which adeline calls "barbaras", and had a wonderful time. there were gardens all around the little bed and breakfast which we enjoyed exploring. we have truly loved being a family of three, we have had such sweet days together and are now very excited to meet our fourth little family member. we know that there will be many joyful days to come!

Blast From the Past

adeline's first night home from the hospital when she was born she slipped her arm out of her pajama sleeve and somehow put it through the neck hole. this week i was doing the breakfast dishes in the kitchen and when i came into the living room adeline had put her arm through the neck hole of her lobo jamies. it was so funny i just had to take a picture.

Fun with Grammy & Papa

adeline had a wonderful time spending a few days with her grammy and papa while they were in town. my dad came to a pastors conference at our church so he was only able to see addie for one night and one morning, but as you can see they made the most of their time together and she couldn't laugh hard enough at him or snuggle close enough to him. grammy was able to spend 4 days with her and they too laughed the whole time. we were so sad to see them go. austin and adeline enjoy the backyard together when he gets home at night. tonight she got brave and ran through the sprinkler! austin says that there is a neo-pagan conspiracy to introduce vegetable worship that has crept on to sesame street since we were kids. he says that cookie monster's song "cookies are a sometimes food" is evidence that The Street has changed for the worst. judging from this picture, adeline agrees.

Long Overdue...

we have had such a busy few months and have been without the internet for about a month so here is an update that is long overdue...

we had a great christmas celebration at our home before we went to albuquerque. adeline loved opening her presents. we had a wonderful time with the family in albuquerque but don't have any pictures (my hands were full helping her open gifts!)

adeline loves playing dress up. we laugh so hard! she also likes to try on our shoes. here she's wearing her aunt charity's boots!we moved into a new house and it has a yard. one of the best things is watching addie play outside, explore and write with chalk.although this is not the best shot of it, here is my belly and charity's belly (who's due in june). adeline was so thrilled to see aunt charity's "baby" belly. austin turned thirty!!!adeline made her first valentinethis weekend adeline's cousins came to visit. she wouldn't let hanna put her down and just loved to sit with her. she wouldn't stop giving hanna kisses and eskimo kisses. it was so cute. also, please note the new hairdo. we call them hippo ears and were reminded of hanna when she was a baby.
