First Day of Spring

yesterday adeline celebrated the first day of spring by wearing a flower headband that my parents sent in her easter basket.

Fun in "Barbaras"

last weekend we took one last family trip before the baby comes. we went to santa barbara, which adeline calls "barbaras", and had a wonderful time. there were gardens all around the little bed and breakfast which we enjoyed exploring. we have truly loved being a family of three, we have had such sweet days together and are now very excited to meet our fourth little family member. we know that there will be many joyful days to come!

Blast From the Past

adeline's first night home from the hospital when she was born she slipped her arm out of her pajama sleeve and somehow put it through the neck hole. this week i was doing the breakfast dishes in the kitchen and when i came into the living room adeline had put her arm through the neck hole of her lobo jamies. it was so funny i just had to take a picture.

Fun with Grammy & Papa

adeline had a wonderful time spending a few days with her grammy and papa while they were in town. my dad came to a pastors conference at our church so he was only able to see addie for one night and one morning, but as you can see they made the most of their time together and she couldn't laugh hard enough at him or snuggle close enough to him. grammy was able to spend 4 days with her and they too laughed the whole time. we were so sad to see them go. austin and adeline enjoy the backyard together when he gets home at night. tonight she got brave and ran through the sprinkler! austin says that there is a neo-pagan conspiracy to introduce vegetable worship that has crept on to sesame street since we were kids. he says that cookie monster's song "cookies are a sometimes food" is evidence that The Street has changed for the worst. judging from this picture, adeline agrees.

Long Overdue...

we have had such a busy few months and have been without the internet for about a month so here is an update that is long overdue...

we had a great christmas celebration at our home before we went to albuquerque. adeline loved opening her presents. we had a wonderful time with the family in albuquerque but don't have any pictures (my hands were full helping her open gifts!)

adeline loves playing dress up. we laugh so hard! she also likes to try on our shoes. here she's wearing her aunt charity's boots!we moved into a new house and it has a yard. one of the best things is watching addie play outside, explore and write with chalk.although this is not the best shot of it, here is my belly and charity's belly (who's due in june). adeline was so thrilled to see aunt charity's "baby" belly. austin turned thirty!!!adeline made her first valentinethis weekend adeline's cousins came to visit. she wouldn't let hanna put her down and just loved to sit with her. she wouldn't stop giving hanna kisses and eskimo kisses. it was so cute. also, please note the new hairdo. we call them hippo ears and were reminded of hanna when she was a baby.

Sweet Mrs. Switzer

we all had a wonderful time with mrs. switzer this weekend at our annual christmas lunch with her. she brought adeline a dogie and, as you can see, adeline loves it.

Christmas Cheer

our little cindy lou-who loves to wear bows. she found this one in some baby things and asks for it from the moment she wakes up. she likes to eat her breakfast with it on. i love to see her with her crazy hair and bow in her pj's at the breakfast table. she's a funny girl!

addie loves the christmas decorations in our house. she tells me everyday how pretty they are. she's been very careful not to touch them, but loves to adore them from afar. her favorite is a small christmas pillow that she is allowed to play with. she likes to arrange it on her small chair!
this is probably the only picture we have that has something to do with christmas this year where adeline isn't wearing summer clothes and is wearing shoes! it's been a warm december but it's cooled down this week and we're glad to get one winter picture in before christmas.this is adeline's newest face. we probably shouldn't think it's so funny but we just can't help it.

Cruising, Crayons, Cuddling and Christmas Trees

on tuesday, november 6, adeline started walking! she has been standing on her own for the past 4 months or so but she finally got brave enough to take some steps. she wasn't sure what she thought about it at first but now she loves it and rarely crawls anymore. we love to see her walk into a room, it is still very funny to us. although this was a sad milestone it was also a very exciting one. we love our little cruiser!

a few weeks ago i decided to get adeline some crayons and a giant coloring book because she loves to use a pen with austin's help. i knew she was a little bit small to start coloring but i thought it was worth a try. it was so cute to watch her color. she really enjoyed it and did a great job. i thought we found a great little activity for her until she quickly tried to eat one when i wasn't looking. needless to say, we're taking a break from the crayons until she's a little bit older.

adeline is really sleepy after church on sundays. it's prime-time for cuddles. her dad especially loves to hold her when she's sleeping.

today we went to get a christmas tree. our little addie found a few favorites right away! we think that bottom picture captures our inner-city urban christmas.

Catching Up

the newest little Duncan baby has been making me so sick that I haven't been able to blog in 2 months so here is my best attempt at catching up. we haven't taken many pictures or been on many adventures but I'm sure you'll be able to see how much our little lady has grown!
